Strength analysis of graphite sealing gasket |
| 2012/5/13 15:31:46 | In our production and daily life, graphite sealing gaskets are often used, and graphite sealing gaskets can be said to be a very common production tool. Have you considered the issue of the strength of graphite sealing gaskets when we use them? Today we will learn about the strength related issues of graphite sealing gaskets through this article.
(1) Strength failure of flanges: The material selection and structural design of flanges directly affect their strength. When selecting materials, it is necessary to fully consider factors such as the corrosiveness of the internal medium, the applicable temperature of the material, and the maximum stress it can withstand. These are the basic requirements for material selection. According to GB150, the structural design and strength verification of the flange can be carried out, and the strength of the designed flange can be basically guaranteed, reducing the probability of flange strength failure.
(2) Strength failure of bolts: The strength failure of bolts is largely caused by the following reasons: insufficient material strength, corrosion of the medium, high-temperature creep relaxation, internal defects of bolts, and excessive pre tightening force. Due to these reasons, the bending or twisting of bolts cannot play a tightening role, resulting in the failure of the connecting structure. Due to the high probability and significant impact of bolt strength failure, it must be highly valued by designers.
(3) The strength failure of the gasket: The gasket is an important sealing component in the entire sealing connection, and its performance directly affects the tightness of the connection structure. The deformation ability and rebound characteristics of gaskets are important factors determining their sealing effect. Gaskets with high deformation capacity usually require a very small bolt pre tightening force to fill the uneven gaps on the compression surface, which is easy to form an initial seal; Gaskets with better rebound characteristics are more suitable for fluctuations caused by internal pressure and temperature of the medium under operating conditions. Moreover, since the gasket is in direct contact with the medium, it should also have characteristics such as corrosion resistance, impact resistance, and fatigue resistance to ensure good sealing performance and long service life even under actual working conditions. |
